Product Overview

Alpha-Lipoic Acid (ALA), often called the "universal antioxidant," is a naturally occurring compound that plays a crucial role in energy metabolism and cellular protection.  Alpha-Lipoic Acid (ALA) is a short-chain fatty acid containing sulfur. Its chemical structure allows it to be soluble in both water and fat, unlike most antioxidants (e.g., Vitamin C is water-soluble, Vitamin E is fat-soluble). This means it can work throughout the entire cell and body.  Alpha-Lipoic Acid is a fundamental cellular nutrient that, in supplemental form, offers a powerful tool for managing oxidative stress and specific nerve-related conditions.

Forms of Lipoic Acid

Forms of  Lipoic Acid :
R-Lipoic Acid (R-ALA): The natural, biologically active form found in the body and food. It's more potent but also more expensive and less stable.
S-Lipoic Acid (S-ALA): A synthetic form. Most over-the-counter supplements are a 50/50 mixture (racemic) of R and S forms. "R-Lipoic Acid" supplements are specifically labeled.

Pharmaceuticals & Medical

1. Treatment of Diabetes: Alpha-lipoic acid enhances insulin sensitivity, promotes glucose uptake and utilization, and helps regulate blood sugar levels.

2. Adjuvant Therapy for Neurodegenerative Diseases: In neurodegenerative conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and epilepsy, alpha-lipoic acid protects nerve cells by scavenging free radicals and inhibiting oxidative stress damage.

3. Liver Protection: Alpha-lipoic acid can chelate heavy metal ions, reducing their toxicity to the liver.

4. Prevention of Cardiovascular Diseases: regulating blood lipids, exerting antioxidant effects, and protecting vascular endothelial cells

Food & Nutrition Supplement

1. Antioxidant and Anti-Aging Properties: It helps improve skin issues such as wrinkles and pigmentation, maintaining skin elasticity and radiance. It is commonly used in anti-aging health supplements and skincare products.
2. Immune Enhancement: Alpha-lipoic acid participates in cellular metabolism and energy production, regulates immune cell function, and enhances the body’s immunity, helping to resist diseases and infections.
3. Weight Management: Some studies indicate that alpha-lipoic acid may assist in weight control by regulating metabolism and reducing fat accumulation, particularly promoting fat metabolism in obese individuals.

Skincare and Cosmetics

1. Anti-Glycation and Skin Brightening: Alpha-lipoic acid helps prevent dullness and sagging of the skin while inhibiting melanin production, aiding in skin brightening and spot reduction, and improving uneven skin tone.

2. Repair and Moisturization: Alpha-lipoic acid provides moisturizing and reparative benefits, making it suitable for sensitive or damaged skin care.
