Product Overview

PVP K30 is a specific grade of Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP), It is highly soluble in water and other polar solvents, non-toxic, biocompatible, and acts as an excellent binder, film-former, and stabilizer.

The "K" value is a viscosity-grade specification for PVP. It indicates the polymer's average molecular weight. The "K-value" is derived from the Fikentscher equation, which relates the intrinsic viscosity of a polymer solution to its molecular weight. Lower K-values (e.g., K12, K17) mean lower molecular weight and viscosity. Higher K-values (e.g., K90, K120) mean higher molecular weight and viscosity. K30 sits in the middle, making it very versatile.
